New wagon: NZR bulk cement wagon, BC-1

A new NZR wagon design is now available in store.

It’s been a while between drinks, but I’ve finally got a new design up on the website - the NZR BC-1 class four-wheel bulk cement wagon. This is another excellent design by Neil Ward, and includes the two highly detailed cement pods as introduced on these wagons in the 1960s. The pods themselves were later mounted on 10ft ISO frames in the 1980s so they could be used on container flat wagons. You can buy the pods here (I plan on making a 10ft ISO base soon). The wagons themselves were withdrawn by 1989, with one example surviving into preservation at the Silver Stream Railway in Upper Hutt.

I also have the BC-2 design in the works as well, this was designed by the late Terry Bradley.
