NZR UCA class tank wagon - HOnz

$50.00

The UCA class tank wagon was introduced in 1976 by NZR. Built by Commonwealth Engineering (Comeng) in Australia, the UCA was the most modern tank wagon in NZR service until the advent of the OM class in the 1990s. 30 wagons were imported to New Zealand from Australia.

The tank cars were mainly used for transporting fuel, and were found all over New Zealand. From the mid 1980s they were concentrated on the Wellington-Palmerston North petrol train, and branded “CALTEX” in the early 1990s.

The design is available in HO (1:87) scale, designed to be used with NZR type 16 bogies.

End stanchions, Kadee couplers and handbrake detail are also included.
