New Zealand courthouse - NZ120

$80.00

1:120 3D printed scale model of a New Zealand courthouse.

This model is based on the plans for the original Dannevirke Court House building. This building is now the Dannevirke Galley of History. The building was completed in 1906 and was built in the “Edwardian Baroque” style popular at the time.

Unfortunately, the ornate front of the building, along with its chimneys, was removed following the 1931 Hawke’s Bay earthquake.

Similar buildings were built throughout New Zealand, the courthouse at Temuka being another example very close to the original design of the Dannevirke courthouse.

Original plans and photographs of the courthouse courtesy of the Dannevirke Gallery of History.
