KiwiRail DL class locomotive kit - HOnz

Prototype:

KiwiRail’s DL class mainline diesel-electric locomotive is now the mainstay of KiwiRail’s North Island fleet. First introduced in 2010, the locomotives are dual-cabbed and built by Chinese manufacturer CRRC Dalian. More specifications here on Wikipedia.

The Kit:

This kit is produced in HOnz scale (HO scale or 1:87, for 12mm gauge track). It consists of 3D printed parts (main shell), etches and mechanism/chassis.

Kit includes:

• Highly detailed 3D printed locomotive shell - designed by Neil Ward

• Etched grills

• Kadee couplers

• Glazing for both cabs

• Decals - KiwiRail, your choice of loco number

• Mechanism and chassis:

  • Aluminium chassis

  • Injection-moulded gear towers

  • Accurage bogies (12mm gauge only)

  • Dual-flywheel 18,000 RPM motor

  • DC, can be upgraded to DCC (DCC chip not included)
