Guest Gantry (container gantry) - coming soon!

$50.00
Sold Out

The Guest Gantry was once a common sight in small to medium sized railway yards up and down New Zealand. Introduced as part of a modernization program in the 1970s, the gantries were created to handle then-new ISO shipping containers. Designed by NZR engineer Bill Guest, many examples of the Guest Gantry remain in place today, although not many see regular use, being replaced by modern reach stackers.

Along with the UK-class container wagons, the Guest Gantry revolutionized freight handling by NZR.

This model is currently under development and will be available in 1:120 (NZ120), 1:87 (HO), 1:64 (S)
