Two new containers and a loco

More new designs in store!

First up, Stuart McMurray’s design of the Toshiba EO class electric locomotive of 1968 is now in the store in NZ120 scale.

Second, the VRA refrigerated container (also known as the RFL container). These containers were a common sight on main trunk routes for RFL, a company eventually purchased outright by Tranz Rail in the 1990s.

The VRA containers are available in NZ120 and HOnz scales. They are designed to fit UK-class container wagons. I’m keen to eventually have the larger variant of the VRA, the VRB, available also.

Last but not least the TBC insulated container. Again a common sight on New Zealand’s railways from the 1980s, these distinctive white containers with their large NZR “lazy z” logos were seen everywhere.
