A1A chassis update
Keen readers will have noticed that my putative timeframe for completing the A1A chassis - by the first quarter of 2026 - is almost up.
It’s March 31st, which means tomorrow is the first day of Q2 of the 2026 calendar year. Now I could be smart and say that I actually meant Q1 for the financial year being from 1 April to 30 June, which would give me another three months, but I’d rather be upfront: I haven’t met my own timeframe.
The good news is though that development has progressed - from my last update in February, I was still testing the chassis using resin-prints, I’ve now progressed to finalising the aluminium chassis you see pictured here. The bogie clips now fit perfectly and are able to swing as required. Testing with the dual-fly wheel motor shows that while the bogies are still a little too stiff for my liking, they can be adjusted to run freer.
It’s the school holidays though, and that means development must pause for a week and a bit while I take a break with my kids. More soon, I promise!
